Team Limpopo for the Indigenous Games demonstrated impressive competence against other provinces at the 2022 National Indigenous Games in Margate, Ugu Manucipality, KwaZulu-Natal Province.
The team displayed an impressive performance and showed endurance, dedication and resilience in all sporting codes and managed to finish at No. 2.
They brought home four gold medals in Ncuva, two gold in Morabaraba, one gold medal in Diketo, one gold in Drie Stokkies and one bronze in Diketo and one bronze in Khokho. The total medals are 8 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.

“We are proud of Team Limpopo for Indigenous Games for scooping position two at the National Games. The team performed excellenceltly and represented the Limpopo well, though the competition was tough against their counterparts from all the eight provinces in the country. Congratulations and well done Team Limpopo IG” said MEC Thandi Moraka.
The games are aimed at celebrating heritage, promoting unity and diversity within communities, and preservation of indigenous traditional games. The games further promotes social cohesion and national building. The anniversary games are held under the theme: “My roots, my pride, my future”.
