The actress and radio personality best known for playing the role of Mokgadi Matloga on the SABC Sopaie drama Skeem Saam has joined Channel Africa, the international radio station owned by the SABC.
Pebetsi said she believes no one will ever quite grasp how lucky she is to finally be able to work in radio, which has always been her dream.
“This is a full-circle moment for me. I started radio in 2005 when I was living in the USA. I got the opportunity to do presenting and production on a community station in Harlem, New York, catering to Africans,” she said.
The 35-year-old hosts Chart Toppers every Saturday from 12pm to 2pm and Midnight Snack which airs every Monday from 12am to 2am.
Pebetsi has also worked for radio stations such as UJ FM, Capricorn FM and Ubuntu Radio. She left the airwaves for seven years to pursue acting.
“Getting back into radio is an answered prayer but if I didn’t enjoy the season I was in for seven years while waiting for my chance, I would never have enjoyed acting,” she said.
