The eagerly awaited Limpopo Music Awards, which were poised to celebrate and honor the region’s musical talents, have been dealt a significant blow with their postponement.
In a statement issued by event organizer, Mahlasedi Media and Communication revealed that the awards faced substantial challenges in garnering the necessary backing from key stakeholders, including the Limpopo Department of Sports,Arts and Culture, thus necessitating the postponement.
“Regretfully, we werre forced to postpone LIMA23 due to the sudden and unexpected loss of financial support from the Limpopo Department of Sports,Arts and Culture, despite our best effort and dedication to organising an amazing event.”
Mahlasedi Media and Communication says the Department did not formally notify them of their abrupt withdrawal of funding
“The sadness was hieghtened by the fact that the Department of Sports,Arts and Culture did not formally inform us of thier funding withdrawal.We would want to convey our sincer worry and dissatisfaction at the lack of formal correspondence regarding this issue, which has made it difficult for us to act quickly to adress and lessen the situation.”
Mahlasedi Media and Communication says dispite the the challanges, prepaparation for LIMA24 are underway.
“In order to maintian the LIMA project’s visibility and success, we plan to investiage enhancing our cooperation with the commercial sector in the future”
