The Pan South African Language Board (PanSALB) recently hosted the PanSALB Multilingualism Awards 2024 at the Durban ICC International in the KwaZulu-Natal province on Thursday.
Radio Turf’s news editor and presenter, Mmabaloi Mabitsela, and deputy news editor, Mr. Tshepo Maeko were among the winners.
Mmabaloi Mabitsela won the award for “Best Broadcaster in the Community Media” category.
Mr. Tshepo Maeko, the deputy news editor of Radio Turf, secured 1st Runner-Up position in the same category.
Maeko also received an award in the Community Media for Print, highlighting his commendable achievements in print media.
The PanSALB Multilingualism Awards were established in 2002 and are held annually. The awards aim to recognize and honor individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the promotion of multilingualism in South Africa.
The station congratulates the duo on their well-deserved accolades, celebrating the recognition of their exceptional work in fostering multilingualism.

Radio Turf is a community radio station situated within the University of Limpopo (Turfloop campus), Polokwane municipality in Limpopo province.
The station broadcast 24 hours a day on the frequency, 103.8 FM to the Greater Mankweng, Boyne, Mamabolo, Mothapo, Mothiba, Dikgale and other tribal communities as well as Polokwane and some parts of Seshego.
