Joe Biden Drops Out Of 2024 Presidential Election
United States President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 election race on Sunday.
Biden announced on Twitter he will not seek re-election, and he endorsed Kamala Harris in his place.
“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President.”
The announcement comes several weeks after the US president’s disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump, which turned whispers about his age and fitness into a roar.
He struggled to rebut his opponent’s often false claims, gave rambling answers of his own, and at times stared blankly into space.

Biden plans to serve out the remainder of his term in office, which ends at noon on January 20, 2025.
“I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” he posted on X/Twitter.
It was earlier reported that Biden has tested positive for Covid-19.
His illness was announced at the Unidos US conference – where Biden was meant to deliver the keynote address.
