Greater Giyani Municipality and Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) signed a permission to occupy agreement for the construction of the new TUT Campus in Giyani.

This follows Limpopo Premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba’s recent pronouncement during the Opening of the 7th Legislature that visible activities leading to opening of the campus in 2025 will be pursued.

The Municipal Manager of Greater-Giyani Local Municipality, Mr Vusi Khoza, said the benefits of this agreement will go beyond having a university campus, but also create employment and improve the local economy.

Deputy Vice Chancellor of TUT Dr Nkgatho Tlale said the preparations for the construction of the project will begin as soon as a security entity is appointed and online programmes are expected to be rolled out in 2025.
