ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the ongoing investigation into discrepancies within the Limpopo ANC candidates list.
Ramaphosa was speaking at the ANC Siyanqoba Rally in Malamulele, Limpopo.
Earlier Mbalula said there were some manipulation on some provincial lists and the provinces affected by the manipulation were Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, North West and Gauteng.
Ramaphosa said the ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has already started investigating alleged manipulation of the Limpopo ANC legislature candidates list.
He explained that the investigation is ongoing, and they will wait for its outcome before making any comments.
Meanwhile ANC MP Boy Mamabolo had taken the ANC to court in a bid to challenge the party’s decision to remove him from the 2024 parliamentary list but the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg struck his urgent application application off the roll.
The ANC argued on the legitimacy of Mamabolo’s academic credentials including failing to produce a matric certificate.
He was removed from the ANC parliament list after the party questioned his qualifications.
Another ANC Member of Parliament, Ponani Makhubele said she plans to sue the party for allegedly manipulating the national candidates list by moving her name multiple times without explanation.
Initially ranked within the top 100, she found herself placed at 114, then 124, with no clarity provided despite her inquiries since March.
This isn’t the first time she’s experienced such treatment, having encountered similar issues in previous elections.
The ANC has acknowledged the investigation into alleged list tampering.
