Condolences Pour in for Rheinland Investments Chairman John Mphosi
Limpopo Premier Dr. Phophi Ramathuba has extended her condolences following the passing of John Mphosi, a prominent Limpopo businessman and the chairman of Rheinland Investments.
“As a province, we owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Mphosi for his tireless efforts in transforming our economy. His dedication to increasing employment through his diverse business ventures has not gone unnoticed. We will forever cherish his contributions to the growth and development of Limpopo.”
“May the soul of Mr. Mphosi rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire future generations. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mphosi family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time,” said Ramathuba
Mphosi, aged 71, passed away on August 3, 2024. His death was confirmed by Rheinland Investments in a statement released on Sunday.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. John Mphosi. The distinguished Chairman of Rheinland. Mr. Mphosi passed away on August 3, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and leadership that will be cherished by all who knew him.” read the statement
Mphosi, whose business empire includes Global Oil South Africa and a variety of fast food outlets, was a pillar of the local business community.
His influence extended well beyond Limpopo, yet he remained deeply connected to his roots in Blouberg.
Blouberg Local Municipality Mayor Maria Thamaga also expressed her heartfelt sympathy to the Mphosi family.
During a recent visit to Rheinland Village, where the Mphosi family resides, Mayor Thamaga praised Mphosi’s contributions to both the local economy and the broader business world.

“We have lost yet another life that had been a shining star in the business fraternity and a positive role model for the aspirant entrepreneurs in our community,” said Thamaga.
“Our heartfelt condolences to Ntate Mphosi’s children and the entire family, as well as his friends.”
“We do not take lightly the role that he played in the economic development of Blouberg. Though his businesses have spread throughout the country and neighboring countries, he remained firmly rooted in Blouberg,” she added
Mphosi’s funeral is scheduled for Saturday, August 10, in Rheinland, within the Blouberg Local Municipality.
