The self-taught singer, songwriter, record producer and DJ from Seshego released his current single “I will be fine” two weeks ago. He says the song is a dedication to recent sad events in his life.

“Life hasn’t treated me well. The song is dedicated to some of the highlights of my life. The song is about my misfutunes and also about the pain I felt when I lost my mother. I wrote the lyrics and said, “I watched my mum’s life fade away and it was painful, ” he said.

“I recently lost my brother and sister and it’s hurting. I’m in a bad space right now and I feel depressed. The song draws heavily on these recent events. I know It’s part of life but it’s difficult to accept the situation. I just have to be strong and learn to forget the pain.”

He recently posted on his Facebook Page and said that he feels he’s not getting the praise he deserves and that he’s slept on.

“I’ve been in the music industry for a while but I feel like my work is underatterated. Yes, my music is playing on radios and TV but the DJ Tears PLK brand is not well recognised.”

His followers tried to comfort him and reassure him that his work is appreciated. Multi-award-winning DJ and producer Chymamusique also sent him words of encouragement.

Never !!!! We are learning a lot from you and dancing to your music papi “, commented Chymamusique.

He says most of his fans appreciate him as both a producer and a DJ, but the industry doesn’t seem to see him as a DJ.

“I became famous for mastering music production and started learning how to DJ later. I feel like I’m not given a chance as a DJ. I’m not getting enough bookings as a DJ”

Although things are tough right now, DJ Tears PLK says the support from his industry peers has kept him going. He says the likes of Chymamusique, Lulo Cafe, Mike Rockstar, Bobstar DJ, Lele X and a few others have shown him massive support.

“They showed me that life is not all about quitting. I have to be strong. I have to take charge. I have to lead my own life, and most of all I have to trust in myself, ” he said.

DJ Tears PLK fell in love with House Music at the tender age of 12. He released his first single,” Loving Memories” dedicated to his mother in 2014.
