Transport Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga introduced four community development projects, collectively worth R787 million, to stakeholders in the Sekhukhune and Mopani District Municipalities, Limpopo Province.
The Minister joined by Limpopo Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure MEC Nkakareng Rakgoale handed over four contractors to upgrade four roads in Limpopo.
She unpacked the economic development opportunities that came with jobs for local labor and subcontracting packages for smaller contractors.
The following roads will be upgraded from gravel to tar by SANRAL:
- D2919 road, from Tshikanoshi to Malebitsa, Sekhukhune District Municipality
- D3878 road, from Calais to Ga-Sekororo, Mopani District Municipality
- D3187 road, from Mageva to Makhuva in the Mopani District Municipality
- D3810 road, from Thomo to Hlomela in the Mopani District Municipality.
Minister Chikunga has urged all communities to cooperate with the government to ensure effective service delivery.
