Shortly after their public breakup announcement, a sextape allegedly featuring Themba “Grootman” Selahle and Gcinile Twala has emerged on social media.
Gcinile Twala, a well-known makeup artist, has decided to take legal action against her former partner, Themba “Grootman” Selahle, a controversially forex trader.
This comes after after the controversial forex trader allegedly leaked the explicit tape on social media, involving him and Gcinile.
Selahle also threatened to leak another video of her until she returned everything that he had bought for her.
Gcinile promptly decided to respond to the situation by taking legal measures against him.
The sextape could be a case of revenge porn, which under South African law, is a crime under the Cybercrimes Act, with sentences of upto three years or a fine enforceable by the courts.
The non-profit organisation (NPO) Women For Change has come in defence of Gcinile Twala and called for Themba ’Grootman’ Selahle to be arrested for allegedly leaking their sex tape.
“Women For Change are deeply appalled and outraged by the sex tape that was allegedly leaked by Themba Selahle, known as ’Grootman’. This heinous act of revenge porn is not only a gross violation of privacy but also a deeply traumatising experience for Gcinile Twala,” read the statement from the NPO.
