Heavy Storm Causes Damage to Graves and Tombstones in Polokwane Cemeteries
Polokwane Municipality reported that a heavy storm has caused significant damage to graves and tombstones in the municipal cemeteries.
In a statement, Polokwane Municipality spokesperson Thipa Selala urged those who have buried their loved ones in the municipal cemeteries to check the condition of the graves and tombstones.
“We empathise with the families affected and encourage them to visit the sites to assess any damage,” he said.

While the storm’s impact was particularly severe at the Church/Silicon Cemetery, Selala urged families to check the conditions of graves in Seshego, Blood River, Sebayeng, and Mankweng as well.
“The municipality further appeals to families to evaluate any damage and report it to the companies responsible for erecting the tombstones,” he added.
