He will then take part in an arts and culture carnival march in Mapungubwe, starting at SABC Park through the streets of Polokwane to Jack Botes Hall.
The carnival will be presided over by MEC Nakedi Kekana, Polokwane City Mayor John Mpe, Capricorn Borough Mayor Mmamedupi Teffo and all other MECs and Mayors “We are so proud to welcome our son, our star in Limpopo, during the run up campaign to his win, we knew in our hearts that we have star here,”says MEC Nakedi Kekana.
From Polokwane, Thapelo will be welcomed to Mogalakwena (Mokopane) township on Saturday with many activities culminating with a mini festival in his home village of Diretsaneng on Sunday 4th December.
“We are proud and excited for Thapelo’s win, this will serve as an encouragement to our children who are residing in rural villages that their success cannot be determined by the background they are coming from. Even those who reside in deep rural areas are destined for greatness,” said Mayor Ngoako Taueatsoala.
Thapelo forms part of the 2022 Mapungubwe Arts Festival line up which has about 90 % of Limpopo’s musicians.
