Shonisani Maideledzha, well-known as Mukosi in the music industry shared her frustration and disappointment over her collaboration with music icon Papa Penny.
In a candid statement to her fans, Mukosi disclosed that her voice will not feature on their joint song, Hayi Kamina Hee.
The long-anticipated release of Hayi Kamina Hee, a song she had been working on with Papa Penny will not feature her vocals. She claims that the agreement papers, which were crucial for her participation, were never delivered as promised.
Additionally, she disclosed that Papa Penny had asked her to remake the popular track “MILANDU BHE,” a request she declined due to her artistic integrity because Papa Penny has a remake of the same song with Makhadzi.
“Sorry to my fans, but the song will be released without my voice. The agreement papers were not delivered to me as he promised. Instead, he wanted me to remake MILANDU BHE, but I refused. Thank God I was not the one who called him; he was the one who called me,” posted Mukosi
She said she felt disrespected and that artists should refrain from exploiting her voice to harm or target others.
“I didn’t want to say much about this, but I can see everyone calling for collaboration and wanting to use me to harm other artists, exploiting my gifted voice. For example, in the song “BALANCE,” I was part of it, but when they released it, my voice was replaced with another. Big artists, please stop using me to gain attention from other artists.”
Mukosi says the same thing happened when she recorded “GHANAMA,” where she recorded her vocal to replace those of Makhadzi.
“The same thing happened with GHANAMA, I left nine songs. I copied the demos, but I was asked to delete them. When I asked for the original songs, they were nowhere to be found. Even the song “MARINATE” cannot be found. Why? Because they used me for their own agenda,” said Mukosi
At present, Papa Penny has not responded to Mukosi.
