Ntsikwane’s Car Boot Unplugged is a live music session created by Ntsikwane in 2017 as a breakaway from the traditional way of enjoying live performances.
This year’s event will takes place on the 2nd of December 2022 at Mercedes Benz Polokwane from 8pm until late.
The ticket is R400 and it includes a meal. Drinks will not be sold on site but will be allowed at the venue.
During a podcast interview on Jack Rams Online, Ntsikwane told Jack Rams that her music is about healing and bringing in a different energy and experience.
“The kind of music I create chose me. I found that my sound leaned towards Afro-soul with a touch of jazz, classical and traditional. It’s music that takes you on a spiritual journey,” said Ntsikwane
The Car Boot Unplugged session will feature some of Limpopo’s great artists including Malatji, Mahlatze Vocal, Elo Blues and Mapaseka, all of whom will perform from the car boots.
Ntsikwane said that even though music is her sole source of income, she’s not pressured to make “popular” music, because she wants to remain true to herself.
“I put a lot of work and effort into my music. Others fall in love with the work right away, while others take longer. I’m content when the music touches someone’s life. That’s why I call myself musical medicine woman,” Ntsikwane emphasised.
“I am not driven by sales and fame and I know that my music would take time to win people over”
This year’s edition of Ntsikwane’s Car Boot Unplugged will bring extraordinary experience when it returns to a very unpopular venue for a live performance under the auspices of the SAMPRA development fund.
The audience will have the opportunity to interact with each artist and get to know the artists better.
