Ntombhi Ya Mutsonga launches first Annual Indigenous Language Champ Awards.
Ntombhi Ya Mutsonga Foundation is set to host the 1st Annual Indigenous Language Champ Awards in Limpopo. The awards will take place at Malamulele Community Hall on June 16.
Ntombhi Ya Mutsonga Foundation in partnership with Old Mutual aims to promote linguistic diversity and foster appreciation for Indigenous cultures, honor language champions and promote literature.
The awards honor exceptional teachers and learners in indigenous home languages, with categories like Best Speller, Reader, and Poet of the Year.
Twenty schools, including Ripambeta High, Shikundu High, EPP Mhinga High, Xihlovo Primary, and Ximixoni Primary, will participate in the awards.
The show will feature performances by cultural groups, traditional artists, indigenous poets, dancers, and choirs. Program directors Just Jb and Tinyiko Cash will ensure a seamless and captivating event.
The star-studded lineup includes DJ Mfundhisi, Cool B, Chavi CMC, Sarafina, Mango Groove Dance Group, and the EPP High School Choir, promising an authentic African experience.
The Indigenous Language Champ Awards serve as a platform to acknowledge the value and significance of Indigenous languages.
The event is a celebration of language, literature, and talent. Attendees can expect an unforgettable night that showcases the power of words and the richness of culture.
