Peter Mashata, a well-known comedian, MC, and DJ, whose real name is Peter Mabuse, was reportedly shot and killed in Soshanguve over the weekend.
He is said to have performed his final set at his All Black event at Epozini Lifestyle in Soshanguve Block G at midnight.
Klaas Mabela, a friend who was traveling with the deceased, told the police that when they left Epozini Lifestyle, they approached TUT North Campus Soshanguve on Aubrey Matlala street where there was traffic and destruction on the road.
The driver had to reduce speed and all of a sudden there were gunshots from the passenger side where the deceased was seated.
The driver sped off from the scene and drove to Akasia Hospital Netcare for medical attention. The deceased had multiple gunshot wounds and did not respond when Mabela called his name.
Mabela was also shot in his left shoulder but received medical treatment.
