Kabelo Koma aka Problem Child Ten83
Black Motion added a new member to the group. Kabelo Koma, known in the house music scene as Problem Child Ten83, has joined Black Motion as Murda Bongz’s replacement.
Black Motion was trending on Twitter after an interview with SABC News. Instead of Murdah Bongz, Kabelo Koma joined Thabo Smallz as the other half of Black Motion.
The two were introduced as the new musical duo. Thabo Smallz focuses on drums and Kabelo handles the DJing part which Murdah Bongz has been doing.
A tweet by popular DJ Prince Kaybee sparked the separation rumors. Prince Kaybee shared how Black Motion’s split saddened him.
“Still in disbelief that Black Motion is no more, the most decorated and astounding duo of our time,” he tweeted.
Kabelo is a South Africa’s house music heavyweight born in Seshego, Limpopo. He fell in love with Afro house in the late 90’s, and quickly earned the title of “Problem Child” by playing the decks at parties at the age of 14.
He began producing in 2005 to build on his club experience, encouraged by his mentors and friends. In 2011, he adopted the name Mr. Ten83, derived from his postal address, a label that quickly became a must for deep and tribal house fans.
A year later, under the impetus of his friends DJ Lungzo and DJ Kunta, he joined Mofunk Records, still continuing to appear on numerous labels such as DM Recordings, Nulu Music or Peng Records.
Ten83’s original works inspire a new generation of up-and-coming DJs and producers from his home region, as evidenced by his collaborations with renowned artists such as Nick Holder and Da Capo.
BLACK MOTION DROPPING NEW MUSIC
Black Motion tried to deny the news that the group had split. They even teased that they were still working on music and other campaigns.
“Black Motion is dropping soon. Let them talk but the music lives on.”
Murdah Bongz and Thabo Smallz were in the studio, collaborating on new music and participating in the King Korn #OurStoryToShare campaign a few weeks ago.
