Gospel singer Samuel Sammy M Mothiba took to social media to express his disappointment with Mapaungugwebe Arts Festival organizers for dropping him from the festival lineup.
Sammy M alleges that he was supposed to perform at the festival, but he received a regretful communication informing him that he will no longer be performing.
“I was actually supposed to perform as an artist at the Mapunkubwe Music Festival 2023, but I received the regret today.”
In a subtle nod to regional dynamics, Sammy M seemingly speculated that the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture in Limpopo conveyed that he is not talented enough to showcase his musical prowess on the Mapaungugwebe stage.
“I guess I should be coming from Gauteng; maybe my skills and gift would be more appreciated.”
However, despite the setback, Sammy M refrains from divulging too much about the situation, indicating that his career is in a transitional phase.
“I’m currently restricted from speaking much because my music career is taking some very interesting shape by the grace of God. My statement is, with or without this department and people who are running this from the inside, I will triumph.”
One noteworthy aspect of Sammy M’s post is his desire to pay homage to Lettie Lebohang, possibly through a massive tribute performance.
Hailing from Ga-Mothiba, Dipelaneng, Sammy M embraces versatility in his musical pursuits.
He proudly identifies as a gospel specialist, showcasing his talents at various events within and beyond Polokwane.
His performances have graced the sacred halls of churches, the intimacy of private events, the vibrant atmosphere of music festivals, the formality of functions, and the sophistication of gala dinners.
With a strong belief in the power of gospel music, Sammy M’s vocal prowess and musical dedication have left an indelible mark on audiences, establishing him as a dynamic force in the local music scene.
