The Saselamani police have initiated an extensive manhunt for unidentified seven male suspects linked to a series of business robberies that transpired on Saturday, November 11, 2023, across various villages within the Saselamani policing area.
Law enforcement was alerted to four separate business robberies occurring between 14:00 and 17:00 at distinct tuckshops in different villages within the Saselamani policing precinct.
According to reports, foreign national-operated tuckshops fell victim to a spree of business robbery incidents, allegedly orchestrated by seven male suspects. The assailants reportedly seized an undisclosed sum of money, cigarettes, cellphones, airtime vouchers, and flash paypoint machines in the Xikundu and Mhinga villages.
All seven suspects were purportedly armed with firearms and wielded whips during the robberies.
The suspects, reportedly driving a white Toyota Hilux without registration plates, allegedly fired shots during the incidents. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but victims were allegedly subjected to physical harm with whips.
The police have swiftly activated a large-scale manhunt to apprehend the seven suspects responsible for this string of business robberies within the Saselamani policing precinct.
“The Police appeal to anyone with information to contact the Investigating Officer, Captain Nkhangweleni Tshilande, at 072 728 1504 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111. Information can also be reported anonymously via the MySAPSApp or at the nearest Police Station,” urged Brigadier Mashaba.
