The South African Traditional Music Achievements Awards (SATMA) in partnership with Freedom Park hosted an
Honorary celebration on Saturday, 20th August 2022. This prestigious ceremony took place at the iconic Freedom Park in
Pretoria.

The SATMAs honored retired former SABC News Anchor, Dr Noxolo Grootboom who expressed his gratitude towards South Africans who continue to support her.

“I feel richly blessed and loved and I thank God for everything that has been happening to me since ritirement. South Africa continues to show me so much appreciation and love,” said Grootboom

Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, Professor Pitika Ntuli including Antoinette Sithole, sister of Hector Peterson were also honored.

Mama Abigail Kubeka reminded the attendees to not forget the sacrifices that were made for our freedom.

“We must be proud and believe in ourselves as South Africans. Just like in the past, we have achieved success as a nation despite all the current problems we face as a country,” said Kubeka

The honorary ceremony was well attended by government officials, royals and prestige delegates.
