Sekhukhune United Part Ways with Head Coach Lehlohonolo Seema
Sekhukhune United have made the decision to part ways with head coach Lehlohonolo Seema following their 2-1 defeat to Richards Bay FC in the Betway Premiership on Wednesday night.
The loss at King Zwelithini Stadium proved to be the final straw for the club’s hierarchy, who have struggled with Seema’s performance in recent months.
A club statement confirmed that Seema’s assistants, Kaitano Tembo and Paulus Masehe, will assume the responsibility of leading the team forward.
The statement expressed gratitude to Seema for his dedication and contributions during his tenure:
“The club thanks coach Seema for his dedication and contribution during his time with us.”
Despite leading Sekhukhune to a commendable fourth-place finish last season, which earned them a spot in the African Confederation Cup, Seema’s relationship with the club’s management had become increasingly strained.

Seema’s departure follows a season that saw Sekhukhune’s fortunes fluctuate.
The 44-year-old former Basotho international, whose coaching career began at Bloemfontein Celtic, had been brought back to the helm after the club parted ways with German coach Peter Hyballa, who was dismissed before even taking charge of a single match.
Under Seema’s guidance, the team played 25 matches across all competitions, registering 12 wins and nine defeats.
Seema’s departure adds further uncertainty as Sekhukhune now prepare for a crucial cup clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
Former Ca[e Town City coach Eric Tinkler is said to be a potential replacement as the head coach of Sekhukhune.
