Shebeshxt, real name Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, has been criticised after his reckless gun stunt.
Since shooting to stardom, Shebeshxt has on a number of occasions made headlines and trends lists for public altercations.
In a video shared on social media, the star is seen reaching into his backpack for his gun and flashing it in front of throngs of fans while performing.
While some claimed he pulled out a toy gun, others said Shebeshxt was ruining his career as his actions could see him end up behind bars.
Shebeshxt has responded to a video of him allegedly pointing a gun at a fan during one of his performances.
He claimed that he took out a toy gun.
“If you think the toy gun that I pulled out is a real gun, then you are a fool. I’ll have a real gun next year, and I will chase you with it,” posted Shebeshxt
Shebeshxt has previously faced criticism related to firearms.
On charges that were later dropped last year, he was charged with two counts of discharging a firearm after he allegedly fired shots in the air at a family home in Ga-Mamaola village, Limpopo.
While appearing on the L-Tido podcast, Shebeshxt shared with the host why he resorts to violence during most of his performances and daily life.
“I’m not fighting with them. I hit them once just to show them that I was not fighting and to tell them to relax and not start with me. For them, it’s fun, for me it’s work. So when they try to provoke me at work it makes me think they want to make me lose work and go hungry.”
The recent scandal wasn’t surprising to many, given that his rise to fame has largely been propelled by numerous questionable encounters.
