Award-winning South African actor Sicelo Buthelezi, popular for playing Teddy in Mzansi Magic Gomora, joins Skeem Saam.
The actor is set to make his debut on April 2 playing the role of Tobias (Toby) Maswahla, a university student with a mischievous streak who gets expelled and is forced to move to Turfloop after causing serious trouble in Johannesburg.
Viewers can expect to see a young man who at first is a menace to society so to speak. He comes across confident and charming and seems like he can talk himself out of any situation.
“Having joined the Skeem Saam family has been amazing. It’s a different environment but it feels like home. I’m enjoying it,” Sicelo said.
Skeem Saam said Sicelo’s performance as Toby aligns with the overall themes and direction of the show because one of Skeem Saam’s narratives is to tell stories that affect societies.
