SRC Treasurer and Thobela FM Presenter accused of exploiting a famous comedian.
Mr. Chase claimed that the Student Representative Council (SRC) Treasurer, Mpho Ramodike, and her accomplice Sandile Dikgari, a Thobela FM presenter, engaged in corruption and looting of the budget.
“I pitched the idea of hosting a comedy show exclusively for UL students. Following this, I was called for a meeting with Mpho Ramodike, during which I presented a detailed plan on how comedy shows operate and outlined a proposed lineup.”
Mr. Chase alleged that Ramodike took credit for the idea and submitted the plan to the management without acknowledging his contribution.
“The budget for the event, amounting to approximately R700,000, was approved. However, instead of involving me in the subsequent booking process, Ramodike allegedly brought in her friend Sandile Dikgari, who goes by the name ‘Wil’s Dee’ on Thobela FM’s show ‘Ntshirogele’ and is known as the ‘Man of the Match.”
Mr. Chase also claims that on June 14, 2023, he received a call from Dikgari, who attempted to negotiate with him and book him for the very event he had conceived.
“I contacted Ramodike for clarification but received no response. Messages sent to her were read but not replied to, leaving me feeling ignored and abandoned.”
